The Role
You will play a key role in the development and delivery of consistently high-quality care services for our residents. You will support the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, as well as provide leadership to the care team.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Have an NVQ 3 and experience of being a Unit Manager (or a Senior Care Assistant and are now looking for the next step).
- Supervise, mentor, lead and develop the team.
- Be committed to the highest standards of care, compliant with CQC regulation.
- Plan and prioritise workloads with an eye for detail.
- Work with health professionals and other stakeholders.
- Able to cover the shift on short notice to meet the needs of residents.
- Handle enquiries, ‘show arounds’, visitors, and resident and relative requests.
- Have excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Be kind, warm and compassionate, with a can-do attitude.
- Always present a compassionate and professional image.

Weekly Hours

- Previous care experience is not a necessity but would be an advantage.

Weekly Hours
3 on 3 off shift pattern, 8am-6pm. 35 average weekly hours.
The Role
We will provide an exceptional, restaurant-quality dining experience to our residents and our Sous Chef will a key person in delivering this. You will work in partnership with the Head Chef and be involved in every aspect of kitchen management from planning the menus, ordering, and ensuring a top quality dining experience for our residents.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Be a highly experienced Sous Chef with a passion for cooking.
- Take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Be able to cook using fresh, seasonal food creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus.
- Build relationships with our residents and tailor the menu around their wants and needs.
- Understand how to prepare food with specific nutritional characteristics.
- Have a good understanding of hygiene, infection Control, HACCP, waste management, and COSHH.
- Have experience in planning menus, stock control, ordering, cleaning, and budgeting.
- Motivate and train a successful team.
- Have excellent verbal/written communication skills.

3 on 3 off shift pattern, 9am-6pm. 31.5 average weekly hours.
The Role
You will play a key role in providing nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals for our residents that are safely and hygienically prepared and served.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Help prepare a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centre around resident preferences, requests or special dietary requirements.
- Be understanding towards residents and their needs.
- Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe environment within the home.
- Maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the HACCP Manual, and ensure that all areas of the kitchen are immaculately clean. This will include the washing up of pots, pans and dishes where required.
- Ensure stock rotation is taking place to maintain optimum freshness of all food stuff ensuring the highest quality expected within the care home.
- Be responsible for all kitchen equipment ensuring it is in full, safe working order, reporting any damage or faults to the Head Chef, Maintenance Person and General Manager.
- Be able to undertake other tasks deemed appropriate by the General Manager.

3 on 3 off shift pattern, 10am-5pm. 24.5 average weekly hours.

You will help our residents take part in the activities and lifestyle choices they have always enjoyed, or would like to try for the first time. Be that meeting family and friends, going to the bowls club, visiting the cinema, or enjoying a specific past-time like gardening, painting or singing.
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Be bubbly, energetic and passionate about creating and organising exciting activities and events for our residents.
- Get to know our residents as individuals, finding out about their lives and what they enjoy. Complete life history books with them and share their memories.
- Put together tailored weekly activities plans and organise safe outings from Cayton View.
- Engage with residents’ friends and families and the local community.
- Produce a regular newsletter for residents’ families and friends.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
